If you are having difficulty watching your local live stream, it may be due to your location or the location you have enabled on your device. Below are various ways to resolve location issues:
Live stream unavailable in your area error message
If you get an error message saying the live stream is not available in your area, you should check with your TV provider if:
- There is an affiliate (a local broadcaster which carries some or all of the lineup of television programs or radio programs of a television or radio network in that area, denoted by a four letter call sign, like WABC) at all; or
- There are any disputes occurring between the local affiliate and your provider. If there is such a dispute, you would not be able to stream.
If there is an affiliate, and it is not in a dispute, removing the station from your area viewing, then maybe something is up with your location.
- Are you in the location of your subscription?
- Are you using a VPN?
- Are you in a location with a network with a different level of access? (For instance, at a family member or friend's house.) Home-based authentication may be automatically logging you in with wrong access.
NOTE: Sometimes you may be in a location that does not support the live stream, but your home location (i.e. where you are subscribed to your TV provider from) does and vice versa.
